Bathroom Electrical Installation in Banbury

Bathroom Electrical Installation in Banbury – Mirror, Whirlpool Bath & Safety
Recently carried out a bathroom electrical job in Banbury (Ruscote area), installing a new illuminated mirror, wiring in a whirlpool bath, and making sure everything was safe and set up properly — all work completed by Richard at RW Currion Electrical.
Worked alongside other trades on this one to make sure everything lined up properly.
This is the kind of job where it’s not just about getting things working — it’s about doing it right so it’s safe, compliant, and built to last.
What was done
• LED illuminated bathroom mirror fitted
• Whirlpool bath pump wired in
• Fused spur installed for safe isolation
• Additional spurs for equipment
• Supply in place ready for boiler connection
• Supplementary bonding installed where required
• Main gas bonding installed/upgraded
• Full testing carried out
With the boiler and electrics in this area, everything was set up so it can be boxed in with a cupboard later — keeping it all neat but still accessible if needed.

Bathroom electrics – done properly
Bathrooms are what’s known as a special location, so there are stricter rules to follow, which is why electrical work should be carried out by a Part P registered electrician or company.
On this job that meant:
• RCD/RCBO protection on the circuit
• Making sure everything is in the right zones
• Safe isolation where needed
• Supplementary bonding where required
• Verification of main bonding (including gas)
• All work done to BS 7671 (18th Edition wiring regs)
Especially with something like a whirlpool bath, you’ve got water and electrics close together — so getting this right is key.
Main bonding is something we often find missing or undersized on older installs, so it’s always worth checking when any electrical work is being carried out.
Electrical Testing matters
Once everything was installed, proper testing was carried out to make sure it’s safe and working as it should.
That included:
• Continuity testing (including bonding)
• Insulation resistance
• Checking earthing and bonding
It’s not just about fitting things — testing is what confirms it’s safe to use.
